Florsheim Info : New Dragonic Overlord, Tetra-Drive Dragon and Vermillion Rulings

Usually rulings in Vanguard are not so complicated, but even then, Vanguard has hit their 15th Booster Set (and a lot of other products), so eventually the interaction of cards will be complicated someday. With the release of BT15, there is some new interaction which confused few of our friends. So now our ruling master, Fibro, will explain how these interaction works.

Well, since yesterday a lot of cardfighters asked me about the Nociel and Rubidium rulings, I'll just post this article to clarify.

Comprehensive rule 1.20 (disclaimer: Self Translated)
 
7.1.2.2.A battle that vanguard is included in the unit that is selected in 7.3.1.4, until close step, it will be treated "Battle that attacked (attacking) vanguard" and "Battle that vanguard is attacked (being attacked)". If the rearguard is included in the unit that is selected, until close step, it will be treated "Battle that attacked (attacking) rearguard" and "Battle that rearguard is attacked (being attacked)"

The point is, the attack declaration to which unit you would attack is chosen at the attack step. So at the close step, even if the unit attacked changed zone/circle, it would still be considered as "Battle that attacked Rear-Guard/Vanguard"

Intinya, penentuan attack ke mana itu saat attack step. Jadi saat close step, walaupun unit yang diserang sudah berpindah zone/circle, tetap dihitung sebagai "Battle that attacked rearguard/vanguard".

New Dragonic Overlord's effect versus Attack Target Retired at Guard Step

Example: If the unit that was attacked by 'the unit that affected by Dragonic Overlord Break Ride effect' is retired on the guard step, can that unit restand? Let's say we use Nociel-Danielle Perkedel Combo to retire it.

Contoh kasus: unit yang diserang DO(BR) yang retire saat guard step, apakah DO(BR) bisa restand? Ceritanya kita pakai kombo perkedel Nociel-Danielle.

Yes it can. Because that unit already declared attack to a Rear Guard at the attack step. BUT because the attacked unit has already retired, so the attack can't hit. (Important for Fargo's effect)

Bisa, karena DO(BR) sudah declare attack ke rearguard saat attack step, namun karena unit yang diserang sudah diretire terlebih dahulu, maka serangan tidak akan hit. (Terutama untuk efek Fargo)

Tetra-drive Dragon and "The Re-birth" versus Rubidium

7.1.2.3 Thereafter, some effect in 7.3.1.4, if "the unit being attacked" in "battle that attack vanguard" or "battle that vanguard is attacked" was changed from vanguard to rearguard, the battle is no longer "battle that attack vanguard" or "battle that vanguard is attacked" and become "battle that attack rearguard" or "battle that rearguard is attacked". As well if "the unit being attacked" in "battle that attack rearguard" or "battle that rearguard is attacked" was changed from rearguard to vanguard, the battle is no longer "battle that attack rearguard" or "battle that rearguard is attacked" and become "battle that attack vanguard" or "battle that vanguard is attacked".

7.1.2.3. Intinya kalau yang tadinya "Battle that attacked (attacking) vanguard" and "Battle that vanguard is attacked (being attacked)" terus targetnya diubah ke rearguard, maka dianggap sebagai "Battle that attacked (attacking) rearguard" and "Battle that rearguard is attacked (being attacked)". Vice versa

The example is Tetra-Drive that attacked Glendios and got redirected by Rubidium to a Reverse unit beside. Can Tetra-Drive's skill be activated?

No it cannot. Because the battle that was "Battle that attacked Vanguard" is changed to "Battle that attacked Rear Guard" by the effect of Rubidium. Since Tetra-Drive need to "attack a Vanguard", it cannot be activated. (See Q802). The same is applied for Dragonic Overlord "The Re-Birth".

Langsung contoh kasus Tetra yang menyerang Glendios. Saat guard step call Rubidium sehingga target berpindah ke unit Reverse di sebelahnya. Apakah skill Tetra aktif? Tidak, karena yang tadinya "Battle that attacked vanguard" sudah berubah menjadi "Battle that attacked rearguard" akibat skill Rubidium, sedangkan skill Tetra akan aktif jika menyerang vanguard. (Lihat Q802). Hal yang sama juga berlaku ke Dragonic Overlord "The Re-Birth"

Vermillion versus Rubidium

When Dragonic Kaiser Vermillion attacks with its effect to attack all three front row, Rubidium will redirect all three to just one Reverse unit.

Kalau Dragonic Kaiser Vermillion nyerang pake efek ke tiga front row, Rubidium bakal bikin ketiga serangan tadi jadi satu serangan saja ke Reverse yang ditunjuk.

Another relevant updated rule:

7.3.1.4.2. Between being chosen for the attack until the end of battle, if the unit being attacked cease to exist, the process of the battle still proceeds.

7.3.1.4.3. The "attacking unit" and the "unit being attacked" will only continue to be the "attacking unit" and the "unit being attacked" if they are in their present circles. Should the "attacking unit" leaves its current position, it will cease to be an "attacking unit", while a "unit being attacked" will cease to be a "unit being attacked" should it leave its current position.
